it's september already?
thats pretty fast huhh.
im still very happy at work
cuz everyone in the office is nice :)
and i kinda like the very old pre-war bldgs in the camp
especially the old school hangars
sometimes i walk past old bldgs that have been vacated and doors/windows sealed, it's quite spooky but it's interesting. you dun get to see such bldgs around singapore much and yet i see them every single day and every corner i turn.
there are colonial houses near the camp and they used to house the brit families during the 1930s. i dunno what happened after the war but these houses are still in a very healthy state. so i guess the japanese must have been very merciful with these heritage bldgs
i chanced upon this book written by this british soldier who were once working inside the Seletar camp. he wrote the book in memory of the days when the air base at seletar was still at its prime and he was a happy soldier. if i din remember wrongly, his name is David Taylor. so he did touch on abit about the japanese. im not sure whether he did face the japanese (or not) but he said that for those japs who took over the seletar camp, they are the nicer bunch of japs. unlike the notorious kempeitai who went around killing innocent citizens in other parts of syonan. these nicer bunch of japs appreciated the bldgs and equipments handed over by the brits and i think thats why many pieces were salvaged during the war.
a little bit on the history there haha
sleepy already?
all words.
yes, im so used to seeing words now. chunks of it in fact.
boss will not be around for the next 3 weeks.
im not exactly glad to learn that cuz i foresee disorder in the office.
oh well...
