END OF WORK!
yeyyyy.. freedom smells real good. was feeling lighthearted on the bus back home. the job last for 4 days where Ms Ang Min Yan worked as a kid-entertainer and sometimes a promoter. -ahem- hahahaa i can handle kids too! anyway the company im working for is Protex! get to know about their soap here --> CLICK!. other than bar soap, they have liquid body wash and also hand soap.
so this whole job scope is that.. firstly, there is this activity area for kids where they will paint their hands with poster color and then leave their handprints on the banner provided. we (the promoters) will then teach these kids how to wash their hands in 7 simple steps with Protex hand soap provided. and once in a while, we will have to promote the Protex hand soap and some other protex products to the adults. :)) so basically, my job scope is:
1) paint kid's hand
2) teach them how to wash properly.
3) pump balloons for them
4) give away balloons
5) promote the Protex products: hand soap, bar soap and shower creme
6) change water occasionally for the portable basins
7) give out flyers (only applicable for today.)
and my pay is $6.50 per hour. i guess my productivity rate should be worth only $4. hahaha cuz firstly, you entertain kids. thats like playing while you are actually working. secondly, you can sit down and pump balloons and then stand around and give away to KIDS. which is most of the time, you only say "hiiii! you want balloons?" and act nice. thirdly, you change water for the basins.. which means you have more slacking hours in the toilet and you can eat since no one is watching you. fourth-ly, you stand around the area just telling people how nice are the soaps without any pressure/stress from unabling to hit the sales target cuz theres no sales target to talk about in the first place. and lastly, giving out flyers are dumb. you stand there and stretch out your arms. and the happy thing is that, i only gave out flyers once and only managed to finish a quarter of the stack before throwing another quarter away and the half is being brought back secretly to the counter. HAHA
this job can be the SLACKEST JOB ive ever done so far in my life. i dun even dread going to work cuz theres nothing to dread about. perhaps the only bad thing is that we dun have dinner breaks. how can the management expect us to have our dinner at goddammn 3pm right smack in the mid-afternoon! and we end work at 9.30pm. ahem! lousy welfare!
but the good thing is that i met a number of pretty and fun colleagues/friends who make the workplace a little less boring. hahaha! the one i talked to the most, seraphine, is surprisingly my junior-to-be in mechanical engineering! haha perhaps can see her around in school pretty often when school starts then. i was telling her a lot of guys are damn buaya and despo during orientation camps, think she didnt get my hint (or did she?) that she might be a good target for them cuz she is pretty and best still, she's single. haha... and i met my nj senior, Nora, too! i didnt know her back in nj, but i recognise her face cuz she's pretty prominent. some house rep or something. or issit student counsellor? aiyahh my memory is failing me. anyway was chitchatting with her today (only) cuz for the past 3 days shesh been attached to the morning shift and im in the afternoon shift. the rest of the 3 ladies at the fair are: yokeling, karen and charlene. very very very nice people. it's a blessing that you get nice people to work with. :))
