My First Time At A Malay Wedding!
ohmygod! i was sooooooo damn excited when i heard that Ansari invited ryan and i to his wedding!!! thats the first time im going to a malay wedding and it's also the first time im attending a friend's wedding. :)) Anyway it's such a heartwarming event and how i wish i can get married straightaway too! wahhahahaa before i digress, i better stop. Oh ive got some pictures to share with you guys! pictures of ansari and ansari's pretty wife (gosh i dunno her name), the random shots and of cuz the beautiful setting.

Ansari's parents are very very staunch muslims. i was very surprised to find out that the gentlemen and the ladies have to sit in seperate areas. but although ryan wasnt around to entertain me, ive got Nora and her nice friends. can you imagine the people there are either from ntu or other universities. thats the difference between a GOOD malay family and some lousy ones from my estate. There wasnt any minahs or mads over there, everyone is so well-behave, well-dressed and well-to-do. very impressive :)) oh i met farhana over there! Ryan says that farhana is very pretty and i have to agree too! hahaa she looks so different from njc days. i think it's the uniform that makes everyone looks like plain jane. no wonder we're school of rocks. haha but take away the grey uniform, you get beautiful people. -grin-
Oh yes i also have to mention that they give little face towels as gifts to the guests. how thoughtful! chinese wedding serve chocolates while malay wedding serve little gifts. i prefer gifts actually. chocs is just sooo common. u can get them on the streets as well. And for once i can sit at the void deck without worrying about cockroaches running all over the place. (i have bad impressions of void decks) but the whole setting is sooo nicee and i didnt about whether there are cockroaches running around. i remember around 10 years ago i went for a chinese wedding under the hdb flat and the whole place sucks. the problem is not the void deck, but the decorations blah blah. there wasnt any nice decorations to be exact. the table clothes are just red cloth pulled over the round tables and we are being served by grumpy lao lians who has maggie mee hair and thick make up with fats bulging out at the sides and painted red fingernails. it's sucha turn-off. no wonder chinese dun do wedding at void decks anymore. cuz now we have nice hotels/restaurants that have pretty babes clad in black heels, nicely uniformed, hair neatly combed and with the right amount of make-up. PLUS AIR-CON some more! And they will have the dry-ice effect with funky music while waiters and waitresses move in a systematic manner. AHEM. how typical.
i think for my wedding, i dun want a 8 or 10 course dinner. i prefer something like a buffet. setting would be somewhere inside a garden where you have trees and flowers. something simple yet elegant is enough. the rest of the money should be spent on the honeymoon :))
