Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2005 has finally come to an end!
this year pretty me have decided to take up the challenge to run the FULL marathon of 42.195km with ryan dear. last year, i was so inspired by those female finishers that this year i set myself a target of 6.5hrs to complete the whole race despite only training for 9 days. during exams, i didnt run at all and was so worried about completing the race. but with dear beside me all the way, i felt it was my responsibility to try hard to run as much as i can even though my legs just couldnt respond. my heart desires to run but my legs just cant carry me far.

anyway now that ive completed the race, one thing about marathon is that if u're not the competitive kinds like the kenyan runners and u're just aiming to finish the race, CARDIO is actually not important at all. throughout the whole run i wasnt even panting because well most of the time after the 20km mark i was walking because my legs cant take it.

and throughout the run, i kept thinking of the good old canoeing days back in NJ to inspire me and spur me to go on despite all the pain. never in my life i have completed 42km until this faithful day. i thank everyone who was with me all the way. be it running with me, or being at the finish line. yayi and wendy, nora and matthew who have to wait under the hot sun at the ending point to cheer us on. when i was running towards the end point, i felt like crying. it was the biggest achievement in my life after my canoeing career. the finisher teeshirt looks extraordinary good-looking and the finisher medal seems like gold medal to me.

thank God that im able to finish the run. maybe i will run again next year but at least for now, lemme enjoy 3 days without physical activities. :) i doubt i can walk properly. haha :)
